Rochester Regional Health seeks an HIM Ambulatory Specialist to maintain confidentiality and integrity of medical records in the Coding/Clinical Documentation dept. You will support daily operations, perform data entry, scanning, and patient communications in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field, experience with EMR systems, and strong organizational skills.

Formación

• 1+ years of experience in Health Information Management or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy regulations.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic/Cerner/Meditech) preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients, providers, and external partners.
• Process and track Release of Information (ROI) requests while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Handle incoming calls, mail, faxes, and electronic in-basket messages.
• Scan, index, quality check, and maintain electronic medical records.
• Manage paper records, including retrieval, storage, retention, and destruction.
• Ensure the accuracy, security, and accessibility of medical records.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve record-related issues.
• Support additional Health Information Management (HIM) functions as needed
