Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council seeks a Roadspace Co-ordinator to manage and coordinate street works across the county’s highways, ensuring safe, efficient traffic management and regulatory compliance.

You will assess permit applications, resolve clashes, and work with promoters, utilities and authorities to minimise disruption while supporting major highway projects and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate street works and highway works activities in accordance with the NRSWA and related legislation.
• Assess permit applications, traffic management proposals and supporting documents to ensure compliance and minimise disruption.
• Identify clashes between works promoters and negotiate alternative timings or traffic management arrangements.
• Support planning and management of major works, events and highway projects with significant network impact.
• Analyse network impacts and develop mitigation measures to maintain traffic flow and resilience.
• Provide expert advice on permit requirements and network coordination matters.
• Monitor compliance with permit conditions and identify opportunities to improve promoter performance.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
• Support the Council's Network Management Duty and promote effective coordination to minimise disruption.
