Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a Traffic Engineering Team Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team across highway and traffic projects in Gloucestershire. You will drive delivery from design to construction, ensuring safety, budget adherence and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, project programming and contract management, with a focus on active travel and sustainable transport initiatives within a major county programme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing and leading an engineering team.
• Significant experience in highway and traffic engineering design, including Active Travel projects.
• Experience delivering engineering projects through to completion.
• Experience acting as engineering lead on transport/highway projects.
• Strong project programming, coordination and resource management skills.
• Knowledge of highway design standards, guidance and best practice.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide confident leadership across the Traffic Engineering function.
• Oversee project management, engineering design and contract management activities.
• Lead delivery of highway and traffic engineering schemes throughout their lifecycle.
• Act as engineering lead on transport projects.
• Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and competing priorities.
• Ensure designs comply with DfT guidance and standards.
• Oversee construction stages of projects, including NEC contracts.
