Job summary

D R Newitt & Associates seeks a Commercial Manager to oversee day-to-day commercial administration on a brand-new highways project in Bedford and adjacent regional schemes. You will report to the Senior Commercial Manager and lead the commercial team, ensuring cost, change, risk and performance reporting align with contract and business requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of standard forms of contract.
• High IT capability including Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid knowledge of construction processes and commercial best practice.
• Proven ability to manage time and deliver outcomes.
• Strong leadership and team development experience.
• MRICS or CSCS Card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Act as the Project Commercial Lead, managing main contract administration.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract documentation, including terms, pricing and programme.
• Manage subcontract packages, including interim valuations, payments and change control.
• Manage commercial notices and contract change, including Compensation Event Quotations.
• Produce monthly applications, CVRs, cost plans and performance reports, forecasting expenditure and liabilities.
• Lead and develop the commercial team, support project risk management, and provide contractual support to bids and estimating.
