Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a dynamic senior professional to lead portfolios delivering highways schemes across multiple sites. You will manage project managers, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, and maintain robust governance across the programme.

The role requires strong PM skills, stakeholder engagement, and experience with safety, risk, and change control in large infrastructure settings. Willingness to travel and lead teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highways construction & maintenance projects or equivalent.
• Strong project management skills with recognised PM qualification (PRINCE2, APMP).
• HNC/HND or equivalent in civil engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Operate as Portfolio Manager in their absence and oversee delivery of highway schemes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure delivery objectives and reporting.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change across portfolios and projects.
• Chair regular project reviews; maintain risk registers, forecast income/costs, and resource allocation.
• Allocate projects to PMs based on knowledge, experience, and capacity.
