Job summary

You will manage technical approvals, coordinate legal agreements, and liaise with developers, consultants, and internal teams to deliver compliant infrastructure.

The role requires proven highways or transport engineering experience, strong communication, and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways or transport engineering.
• Sound understanding of the Highways Act 1980.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the s278/s38 team with effective coordination and delivery of developer-funded works.
• Oversee legal agreements (Section 278/38) and associated technical approvals.
• Manage inspections and ensure construction aligns with approved designs and safety requirements.
• Coordinate handover and adoption of completed highway assets with accurate records.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure integrated scheme delivery.
• Provide technical updates to senior management and Members; contribute to policy updates.
