Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Team Leader for the s278/s38 Team, responsible for overseeing highway works across the city. You will lead a busy multidisciplinary team, manage technical approvals, and act as the main contact for developers, consultants, internal teams and elected Members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the s278/s38 Team with effective coordination and delivery of developer funded highway works.
• Oversee preparation, negotiation and progression of Section 278 and Section 38 legal agreements and approvals.
• Manage inspections to ensure construction aligns with approved designs and safety requirements.
• Coordinate handover and adoption of completed highway infrastructure and maintain asset records.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure integrated and compliant scheme delivery.
• Provide technical advice and reports to senior management and Members.
• Contribute to policy updates and annual reviews of highway standards.
