Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking a driven engineer to design and manage ITS assets across the highway and the Bute Tunnel, delivering large-scale renewal and new projects while supporting the Transport White Paper delivery.

The role requires HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent, proven experience in ITS design and contract management, and strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and external utilities.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and flexible individual with demonstrable experience in ITS design and contract management.
• Ability to lead and support others to achieve performance goals, manage reporting posts and budgets, and develop tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and contract manage ITS assets on the highway and the Bute Tunnel.
• Deliver large-scale asset renewal and new projects for the Directorate.
• Provide continuity in scheme design, specification verification and decision making for the Transport White Paper capital programme.
