Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Construction Manager to lead Minor Capital Investment and civil/highways projects from Leicester site. You will oversee design handover to completion, coordinate subcontractors, manage risk, and ensure safety, quality and delivery on time and within budget.

The role requires strong technical know‑how, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to safe, sustainable outcomes for East Midlands road users.

Qualifications

Experience delivering highways/civils projects.
Strong knowledge of construction delivery in highways.
IOSH/SMSTS or equivalent.
CSCS Supervisory Card.
Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Responsibilities

Managing projects from design handover through to successful completion.
Delivering works safely, on programme and within budget.
Providing regular updates on project progress, risks and design issues.
Conducting site inspections and ensuring appropriate safety controls are in place.
Producing and maintaining project documentation and records.
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.
Attending and contributing to project, programme and health and safety meetings.
Identifying and mitigating project and site risks.
Working closely with Commercial and Procurement teams to support project delivery.
Planning and delivering schemes that minimise disruption to road users.
Coordinating supervision and resource requirements with other Construction Managers.
Ensuring works are delivered right first time and without unnecessary delays.
Supporting measurement and valuation activities.
Providing lessons learned and project feedback to key stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, Chapter 8, DMRB, MCHW and all relevant health and safety legislation.
