Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent Construction Manager to lead Minor Capital Investment schemes from Leicester Forest East Depot, overseeing highways and civil works across the East Midlands. You will ensure safety, programme, and budget adherence while coordinating subcontractors and stakeholders.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes, with a 40-hour work week and occasional night-site visits.

Qualifications

• Experience managing highways, civils, structures or maintenance projects.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• IOSH or SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS Supervisory Card.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• ONC Level 3 in Engineering.
• Experience delivering works on high-speed road networks.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects from design handover through to successful completion.
• Delivering works safely, on programme and within budget.
• Providing regular updates on project progress, risks and design issues.
• Conducting site inspections and ensuring appropriate safety controls are in place.
• Producing and maintaining project documentation and records.
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.
• Attending and contributing to project, programme and health and safety meetings.
• Identifying and mitigating project and site risks.
• Working closely with Commercial and Procurement teams to support project delivery.
