Job summary

National Highways has an excellent opportunity for a Construction Assurance Manager to join our team in the Yorkshire North East region. The role supports delivery of Capital Investment Schemes by ensuring projects meet time, cost, quality and safety standards while maintaining customer experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (desirable; civil engineering degree preferred) or proven highways/structures maintenance/construction experience.
• Experience of working on high-speed Trunk Road/Motorway Networks is desirable
• IOSH or SMSTS preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including stakeholder management, with a strong customer focus and managing geographically dispersed teams
• Experienced in using the NEC 4 ECC form of contract.

Responsibilities

• Assuring the completion of planned works to agreed standards and elevating concerns to the Construction Manager in line with governance requirements.
• Ensuring works are constructed in line with CDM regulations, HSE legislation, Chapter 8, DMRB and MCHW.
• Providing regular feedback to Project Managers on scheme progress, risks, early warnings, and design issues.
• Acting as liaison between key supply chain partners and coordinating the delivery programme; carrying out buildability reviews on all projects.
• Maintaining liaison with Project Managers and Commercial & Procurement colleagues, providing timely information on Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
