Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Construction Assurance Manager to join the Yorkshire North East region, based from Wakefield, Darlington or Leeds. The role involves overseeing civil engineering construction and maintenance sites to ensure delivery on time, to cost, and to the required safety and quality standards.

You will liaise with Project Managers, supply chain partners, and commercial teams, driving governance and buildability reviews while supporting customer experience and ensuring

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline or proven highways/structures maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, HSE Legislation, DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8, and related standards.
• IOSH or SMSTS qualification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholder management and customer focus.
• Experience with NEC 4 ECC form of contract.

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalate concerns to the Construction Manager.
• Ensure works comply with CDM, HSE, DMRB, MCHW, and Chapter 8 requirements.
• Provide regular feedback to Project Managers on progress, risks, and issues; act as first escalation point for on-site problems.
• Coordinate delivery programmes between supply chain partners and carry out buildability reviews.
• Maintain liaison with Project Managers and Commercial/Procurement, providing timely information on Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
