Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Construction Assurance Manager for the Yorkshire North East region, to represent the company on civil engineering construction and maintenance sites, ensuring time, cost, quality and safety standards are met while protecting customer experience.

The role is based from Wakefield, Darlington or Leeds with travel and driving required. Degree in engineering or relevant experience is required; IOSH/SMSTS preferred. Salary is at the lower end for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or relevant experience.
• Experience on highways/structures, with knowledge of CDM, DMRB and MCHW.
• IOSH or SMSTS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards.
• Escalate concerns to the Construction Manager as per governance.
• Provide regular feedback on progress, risks, and issues on site.
• Coordinate delivery programme with supply chain partners.
• Liaise with Project Managers and Commercial/Procurement on early warnings and compensation events.
