Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an Asset Technician for our Asset Management, Design & Delivery team. The role involves visiting sites, gathering data, and helping deliver highway maintenance programs to keep communities connected.

You will work with engineers, technicians and contractors, inspect completed works, and support on-site delivery while using IT tools to track progress. A passion for local infrastructure and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSEs including English, Maths and Science.
• Essential: Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Essential: Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Teams and email.
• Essential: Ability to investigate problems and identify solutions.

Responsibilities

• Visiting sites across Cambridgeshire to investigate highway issues.
• Gathering information to shape maintenance programmes and future improvements.
• Working with engineers, technicians and contractors to develop maintenance solutions.
• Supporting delivery of highway maintenance activities.
• Inspecting completed works and ensuring high-quality standards.
