Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an enthusiastic Asset Officer to shape and deliver highway improvements across the county. You will inspect roads, coordinate maintenance with contractors and engage with local communities to prioritise investments that keep the network safe and resilient.

You will work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, and you will help plan preventative programmes while balancing community needs and budgets. Contact Barry Wylie for more details.

Qualifications

• A levels, NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• HND in Civil Engineering, Highways, Construction or related.
• Desirable: Street Works Supervisor accreditation (NRSWA).

Responsibilities

• Inspecting highways and identifying maintenance needs.
• Investigating highway issues and undertaking site visits across the county.
• Using asset management principles and data to prioritise investment.
• Working with contractors to scope, order and manage maintenance works.
• Planning and coordinating works to minimise disruption.
• Supporting preventative maintenance delivering long-term value.
• Engaging with communities, parish councils and stakeholders.
• Keeping residents informed about planned works and improvements.
