Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an Asset Technician to join the Asset Management, Design & Delivery team. You will help plan, investigate and deliver highway maintenance, working with engineers, technicians and contractors to improve roads and cycleways across the county.

We value practical, customer-focused individuals who are keen to learn and develop in highways, infrastructure or asset management.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (English, Maths and Science) including pass marks.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Teams and email.

Responsibilities

• Visiting sites to inspect highway issues and gather information.
• Help shape maintenance programmes and future improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians and contractors.
• Support delivery of highway maintenance activities.
• Inspect completed works and ensure quality standards.
• Engage with Town and Parish Councils to understand priorities.
• Keep residents informed about planned maintenance activities.
• Support broader teams to maximise value for money.
