Warrington Borough Council is seeking an organised Technical Administration Officer to support the Traffic Management and Road Safety Engineering team in Warrington. The role focuses on triaging road and traffic queries, processing Disabled Parking Place and H-Bar driveway protection applications, and coordinating with engineers to progress works to contractors.
The post involves handling outputs on road safety data, reports, and potential site visits to broaden skills.
The team is charged with ensuring the safe and expeditious movement of traffic across the adopted highway network to support drivers and residents whilst maintaining the general highway environment to required legal standards.
We ensure that the roads are legally protected and enforceable in relation to on street disabled parking, speed limits and other restrictions whilst providing as safe an environment as can possibly be attained within the available space and requirements of both traffic, residents and highway management boundaries challenging the interaction between all three elements for the best possible outcomes.
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Technical Administration Officer to play a key role in providing support to the Traffic Management and Road Safety Engineering Officers. This is a full-time permanent post in a busy team that aids the residents and drivers within the Borough of Warrington and other teams and third parties to provide a safe and accessible road network, prioritising vulnerable road users.
This position will triage the incoming queries, concerns and requests relating to roads and traffic from residents and drivers across the Borough and process Disabled Parking Place and H-Bar driveway protection applications.
The successful candidate will liaise with engineers on incoming correspondence documenting outcomes, managing outgoing correspondence and progressing works requests to the term maintenance contractor to deliver disabled bays and driveway protection markings.
Using specific bespoke programs, you will be required to interrogate and provide output reports and information relating to road crashes to internal officers and third parties to allow accurate assessments for new road schemes, developments and the Cheshire Road Safety Group (Camera Partnership) in the delivery of various proposals across the Borough.
There is an option for this role to incorporate site visits and more technical undertakings if the successful candidate wishes to broaden skills, abilities and knowledgebase.
Notwithstanding the above general administration requirements will be part of this role along with periodical bespoke elements supporting of other officers and engineers as required.
