Job summary

Matchtech Group's client is seeking a Highway Asset Engineer to join the City Operations Asset Management team on a contract basis. You will support highway maintenance programmes and provide technical input across major projects, including HS2 and metro schemes.

Responsibilities include reviewing designs, ensuring standards compliance, and collaborating with project teams and external stakeholders to deliver practical asset management solutions over the ~10 month contract starting in December.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway engineering and asset management.
• Understanding of highway maintenance programmes and asset management principles.
• Knowledge of design review and approval processes.
• Ability to provide clear technical advice and engineering input.
• Strong understanding of relevant highway standards and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a City Operations or infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development of highway asset maintenance programmes.
• Providing technical engineering input across a range of highway projects.
• Reviewing and approving designs in line with relevant standards and requirements.
• Contributing to highway asset management activities and maintenance planning.
• Supporting projects associated with HS2, metro schemes and external developments.
• Working collaboratively with project teams, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Ensuring highway engineering solutions are practical, compliant and effectively delivered.
