Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Highways Asset Manager on an interim secondment to lead the highways assets team and drive strategic management of the function. The role focuses on developing asset management plans, lifecycle planning, and policy development in alignment with national best practices.

You will oversee substantial budgets, manage a multi-disciplinary team, and act as a senior technical representative to stakeholders while driving innovation and continuous improvement in asset

Qualifications

• Significant experience in highways asset management at senior level.
• Proven track record in managing substantial budgets and influencing investments.
• Experience in policy development and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team and drive performance.
• Develop and deliver highways asset management plans and lifecycle strategies.
• Shape policies aligned with objectives and best practices.
• Oversee capital maintenance programmes and bids within financial plans.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and health & safety requirements.
• Represent the council with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
