Job summary

Takeley Primary School is seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to cover classes and PPA across the school and assist with lesson planning. The role welcomes HLTA-qualified candidates or teachers with HLTA-equivalent qualifications and requires a strong classroom presence.

The position is part-time (10.75 hours per week) with a fixed term until 31 August 2027 and pro-rata pay of £30,515 to £32,578. Immediate start; safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified HLTA or teaching qualification.
• Strong classroom presence and ability to cover classes/PPA.
• Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining safe learning environments.
• Ability to plan and prepare lessons as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and adapt learning activities to support pupil progress.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain a positive, well-managed learning environment.
• Promote independence, inclusion and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with staff and support Learning Assistants.
• Communicate with parents and professionals.
• Follow safeguarding, health & safety and confidentiality requirements.
