Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a new purpose built independent school for pupils aged 8-16 with Autism, EBSA and related mental health needs. The school delivers therapeutic education through a multidisciplinary approach, with spaces for learning, therapy and family support.

The role is permanent and full-time (37.5 hours/week, 08:30–16:30), with part-time hours considered and term-time only.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive school environment.
  • Occasionally lead the class during staff absence or teacher release time.

Salary Details:

£27,780 - £30,564 FTE (equivalent to Hampshire Pay Scale Grade D)

Contract Type / Hours of Work:

Permanent. Full time for 37.5 hours/week, 08:30 - 16:30 (part time hours will be considered). Term time only.

Teaching Personnel are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a new purpose built independent school, catering for children age 8-16 with Autism, Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and associated mental health needs including developmental trauma.

The school specialises in providing therapeutic education through a bespoke multi-disciplinary approach, combining education, therapy and family support to re-engage learners. The school consists of classrooms, a sensory integration space, multi therapy spaces, workshop, poly-tunnel and Forest School.

Your duties will include:
  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their academic, social and emotional goals.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver learning and intervention programmes.
  • Support and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning plans.
  • Lead learning activities with individuals, small groups and classes of up to six pupils.
  • Help pupils develop independence, confidence, resilience and engagement in learning.
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive school environment.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary classroom team and occasionally lead the class during planned teacher release time or staff absence.
  • SEN experience is beneficial but not essential; suitable for experienced HLTAs, Teaching Assistants looking to progress, or qualified teachers seeking a different setting.

  • Understands safeguarding, confidentiality and professional responsibilities.

  • Is willing to go the extra mile to help every child succeed.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
