Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the SEND provision in a secondary school in the New Forest from September 2026.

You will deliver targeted interventions and support students with SEND across KS3 and KS4, adapting resources and collaborating with teachers and external professionals to ensure access to the curriculum and progress in confidence and attainment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with students, staff and families.
• Ability to adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions and small-group sessions within the SEND provision.
• Support KS3 and KS4 students with a range of additional learning needs.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to individual student needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.
• Provide classroom support to ensure curriculum access for all learners.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of student development.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Build strong relationships with students and staff.

Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the specialist SEND provision within a thriving secondary school in the New Forest from September 2026.

This is a long-term opportunity supporting students with additional needs within a dedicated provision. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to ensure students can fully access the curriculum
• Assist with monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and families

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold an HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 qualification, or a relevant Education degree
• Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Be confident working with students who require additional academic, social or emotional support
• Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Be flexible, resilient and committed to helping students achieve their potential
• Have experience working within a secondary school environment

Minimum Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Two years' worth of professional references
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Relevant HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 qualification, or Education-related degree
• Previous experience supporting students with additional needs
