Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEND Provision) for a dedicated role in a secondary school in the New Forest starting September 2026. You will support students with SEND, deliver targeted interventions and work with a team of teachers and SEND staff.

The role offers a long-term placement with a supportive environment, competitive daily pay, and opportunities to contribute to students' academic and personal development.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 qualification, or Education degree.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Confident working with students needing additional academic, social or emotional support.

• Experience in a secondary school environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions and small-group learning sessions within the SEND provision.
• Support students with a range of additional learning needs across KS3 and KS4.
• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual student needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.
• Provide classroom support to ensure students can fully access the curriculum.
• Assist with monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and families.

Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the specialist SEND provision within a thriving secondary school in the New Forest from September 2026.

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Hold an HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 qualification, or a relevant Education degree
• Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Be confident working with students who require additional academic, social or emotional support
• Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Be flexible, resilient and committed to helping students achieve their potential
• Have experience working within a secondary school environment

Minimum Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Two years' worth of professional references
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Relevant HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 qualification, or Education-related degree
• Previous experience supporting students with additional needs
