Job summary

Manor Beach Primary School in Thornton Cleveleys is seeking a dedicated HLTA to provide high-quality PPA cover across EYFS/KS1/KS2 and to support pupils, teachers and the wider life of the school.

The role is 32.5 hours per week, full-time equivalent for a fixed-term contract until 21 July 2027, with a salary band of £32,061–£36,363. HLTA status or equivalent experience is required and experience in a primary school is essential.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Level 2 English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
  • HLTA status or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging learning activities and lessons during teachers' PPA time across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Support pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and learning.
  • Adapt learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group support where required.
  • Contribute to the school's inclusive and nurturing ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies.
  • Uphold safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and flexible HLTA to join our friendly and supportive team at Manor Beach Primary School. The successful candidate will primarily provide high-quality PPA cover across the school, whilst supporting pupils, teachers and the wider life of the school.

Main Duties
  • Deliver engaging learning activities and lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during teachers' PPA time.
  • Support pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and learning.
  • Adapt learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group support where required.
  • Contribute positively to the school's inclusive and nurturing ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

  • Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

Essential Qualifications
  • Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ level 4 qualification or equivalent
  • HLTA status
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with children aged 3-11 years
  • Experience of working in a classroom environment
  • Experience of supporting pupils with a range of needs
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working with children in an outdoor environment
  • Experience of Administrative work
  • Staff management experience
