Job summary

Baines Endowed VC Primary School in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire, seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning, primarily providing PPA cover and curriculum release time for teachers. The successful candidate will work across the primary range (EYFS–Year 6) and contribute to inclusive education within a supportive school community.

Part-time, term-time only; pro‑rata salary applies.

Qualifications

  • HLTA Status or recognised equivalent qualification
  • NVQ level 3 or above qualification – appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
  • GCSE (Grade C/4) Level 3 or equivalent qualification in English and Maths

Responsibilities

  • Provide PPA cover and curriculum release time for teachers
  • Support learning across the primary age range (EYFS to Year 6)
  • Contribute to inclusion and supporting pupils with SEND

Summary The Governors of Baines Endowed VC Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, primarily providing PPA cover and curriculum release time for teachers. The successful candidate will work across the primary age range and should be confident in supporting learning throughout the school, from EYFS to Year 6. Visits to school are warmly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the school office.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
  • HLTA Status or recognised equivalent qualification
  • NVQ level 3 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
  • GCSE (Grade C/4)Level 3 or equivalent qualification inEnglishand Maths
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with EFYS/KS1/KS2 children
  • Experience of leading learning with whole classes
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
