Job summary

Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The role will involve supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range and covering PPA time.

The HLTA will lead 1:1 and small group interventions, work with class teachers and school leaders to ensure continuity of learning, support pupils with additional learning needs, and help create a positive, inclusive

Qualifications

• Hold HLTA status or have HLTA-level experience in a primary school.
• Experience supporting children across the primary age range.
• Confident delivering lessons to whole classes.
• Experience delivering intervention support to individuals and small groups.
• Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils' learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Delivering planned lessons to whole classes to cover PPA time and teacher absence.
• Leading targeted 1:1 interventions to support pupil progress.
• Delivering small group intervention sessions across a range of curriculum areas.
• Working closely with class teachers and school leaders to ensure continuity of learning.
• Supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire

Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This exciting Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire is due to start in November 2026 and will initially continue for the remainder of the 2026/27 academic year, with the potential for a permanent position in 2027 for the right candidate.

The Role
