Job summary

Aspire People are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a school in Leicester. The role covers classroom support, leading activities and helping pupils progress, with term-time only engagement and a daily rate of £115–£120.

The successful candidate will take initiative, collaborate with teaching staff and provide high-quality support across the school to promote positive learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils across primary education.
• Confidence leading activities and working with groups of children.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Lead whole-class, small-group and intervention sessions when required.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with different learning needs.
• Help maintain a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and the implementation of learning activities.
• Support behaviour management and encourage positive pupil engagement.
• Work with teachers to monitor pupil progress and identify areas for development.
• Step in to cover lessons or classes when required, in line with your experience and school expectations.

Location: Leicester Salary: £115 - £120 per day
Contract: Monday to Friday, term time only
