Job summary

Aspire People are looking for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a school in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident education professional who can support classroom learning, lead activities and make a meaningful contribution to pupils' progress.

The successful candidate will be comfortable taking initiative, working alongside teaching staff and providing high-quality support across the school.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils across primary education.
• Confidence leading activities and working with groups of children.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A proactive, adaptable and supportive approach.
• Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent experience would be beneficial.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Lead whole-class, small-group and intervention sessions when required.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with different learning needs.
• Help maintain a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and the implementation of learning activities.
• Support behaviour management and encourage positive pupil engagement.
• Work with teachers to monitor pupil progress and identify areas for development.
• Step in to cover lessons or classes when required, in line with your experience and school expectations.
