Job summary

Poppleton Ousebank Primary School is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive, high-performing primary school. You will support pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing and contribute to attendance and pastoral systems.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups across abilities, promoting positive behaviour through restorative and trauma-informed approaches while upholding high standards. This role is term-time, 28.75 hours, permanent.

Qualifications

• Support pupils' social and emotional wellbeing.
• Attend and monitor attendance and pastoral systems.
• Engage regularly with all children, including those with SEND.
• Experience 1:1 work and planning/delivering small group sessions.
• Promote constructive behaviour using restorative approaches and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

We need a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who:

• Can support pupils in their social and emotional wellbeing, and develop and implement related social, health and physical programmes

• Actively participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of systems relating to attendance and integration e.g. registration and pastoral systems etc.

• Can nurture and engage positively with all children, including those with special educational needs, on a regular basis

• Has experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis and planning and delivering small group work, across a range of abilities

• Can support behaviour constructively, promoting self-control and independence using restorative approaches and trauma informed practice

• Is an exemplary staff member who is able to secure high standards of engagement, effective communication with children, staff, parents and visitors

• Is able to demonstrate energy and dynamism and keen to make a difference

• Is someone who sets high standards for their own work.

• Is a team player who listens to and values the opinions of others, while bringing their own ideas and initiative.
