Job summary

East Park Primary School seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teachers by planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals, groups, and whole classes. You will monitor progress, assess and record pupil development, and feed back to teachers on attainment and behaviour.

The role requires HLTA standards, training in educational strategies, and experience with SEND pupils. Term-time pattern, 6.25 hours per week, and access to the East Riding Pension Scheme are

Qualifications

  • Meet the Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards.
  • Have attended training in relevant educational strategies.
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations to promote self-esteem, resilience and independence.
  • Have experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment and supporting children with SEND needs.
  • Assist in the monitoring of children’s responses to learning activities, making use of the school’s tracking data, completing accurate records and reports.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
  • Plan and evaluate learning and assist in the recording of pupils’ progress.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals/groups/whole classes.
  • Monitor pupils’ achievement and progress using school data.
  • Record and report on pupil attainment, progress and development.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil attainment, progress and behaviour.

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups/whole classes and monitoring pupils; assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress and development.

Contract and Salary Details

Hours: 6.25 hours per week (one day per week), term time only plus 5 training days (195 days)

Grade: 8, Scp 25-28, £5,347 - £5,757 per annum (actual salary)

Job Requirements
