Job summary

George Pindar School in Scarborough is seeking Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our inclusive team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality small‑group learning, supporting literacy and numeracy interventions, and working closely with the SENDCo to promote a safe, empowering environment for all pupils.

We seek candidates with significant experience in education settings, Level 2 English and Maths, and HLTA Level 4 or equivalent.

• Significant experience of working with children in an education setting as a qualified TA.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualification or equivalent.
• Level 4 HLTA status or a similar level of skills, knowledge and experience that can be internally verified.

• Plan and deliver high-quality, small-group learning experiences that remove barriers and ensure equity of access for every pupil.
• Support Literacy and Numeracy interventions, nurture groups or students with persistent absence.
• Collaborate with the SENDCo and teaching staff to maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

We seek to appoint Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our team at George Pindar School.

As a HLTA you will have a deep commitment to championing inclusion and wellbeing across our school. You will play a critical role in modelling best practices for adapted instruction, planning and delivering high-quality, small-group learning experiences that remove barriers and ensure equity of access for every pupil. These roles will support Literacy and Numeracy interventions, Nuture groups or students with persistent absence.

Your expertise will be vital in nurturing a supportive classroom atmosphere within our designated SEND area of the school. This role requires proactive collaboration with the SENDCo and teaching staff to maintain an environment where all children feel safe, valued, and empowered to flourish both academically and emotionally.

Essential requirements:
