Job summary

Brick Lane School in East London is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support autistic students in a specialist setting. You will work with teachers, therapists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver targeted interventions and help every student reach their potential.

The role involves leading lessons when needed, delivering Personal Development and Future Pathways activities and building strong relationships to foster independence.

Qualifications

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs in an SEN environment.
  • Confidence leading learning activities and covering lessons when required.
  • Strong ability to build relationships that encourage confidence and independence.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and achieving the best outcomes for students.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes.
  • Cover lessons and support learning across the school when required.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Deliver interventions that support academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, supportive learning environment.
  • Lead the school's Personal Development and Future Pathways Programme.
  • Develop links with employers and community organisations to create meaningful learning experiences.

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding role where you can inspire, support and empower students with additional needs? At Brick Lane School, you'll be much more than classroom support.   • A passion for preparing students for adulthood and future success.
  • A creative, flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing needs.
