Job summary

Woodlands is seeking a highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and ambitious school in the United Kingdom. The role involves working on a 1:1 basis with pupils, including those with complex needs, with a passion for enabling SEND pupils to achieve their full potential.

The position supports teachers with high-quality education, provides PPA cover, and may involve leading class teaching where appropriate in a collaborative, supportive environment.

  • Provide PPA cover and lead class teaching as and when appropriate.
  • Support pupils’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including individuals, small groups and whole classes.
  • Support teachers with monitoring, assessing and evaluating pupil progress.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils to support their needs.
  • Maintain a positive ethos and core values of the school.
  • Contribute to constructive team building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and carers.

What we need

The core purpose of your role will be:

  • To work with and support teachers in providing a high quality educational experience for all pupils
  • Provide PPA cover and lead class teaching as and when appropriate
  • To support pupils’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individuals, small groups and whole classes (where the teacher is not present)
  • To support teachers with monitoring, assessing and evaluating pupil’s attainment and progress
  • Establish positive relationship with pupils in order to support them and respond to their individual needs
  • Maintain positive ethos and core values of the school
  • Contribute to constructive team building amongst teaching staff, non-teaching staff, parents and carers.
