Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in an inclusive setting. You will work with the Class Teacher, lead lessons in absence, and contribute to individual education plans.

The role requires HLTA Diploma Level 4, Level 5 PBS qualification or equivalent, GCSEs, safeguarding knowledge, and a full enhanced DBS. UK right to work and own transport are required.

Qualifications

  • HLTA Diploma or Level 4 and Level 5 PBS Practitioner qualification or relevant experience.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) pass at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a solution-focused approach to challenging behaviours.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Class Teacher in day-to-day classroom management and lead lessons in their absence.
  • Embed positive behaviour support (PBS) frameworks to reduce behaviours of concern and improve quality of life for students.
  • Conduct behavioural observations and functional assessments to inform support plans.
  • Provide educational activities tailored to students' EHCP requirements.
  • Promote pupil welfare and safeguarding per school policies.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, parents, and external professionals for holistic development.

Job description

Are you an enthusiastic and supportive teaching assistant dedicated to helping young learners with complex needs succeed?

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive pastoral team. In this role, you will play a key part in fostering pupils' academic and personal development, helping them succeed in an inclusive and encouraging environment.

We operate a strict no-sponsorship policy; all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, term time only.

Your Role
