Thames Water seeks an experienced Electrical Technical Support Engineer (HV) to support HV/LV electrical systems across Beckton, Hampton, Crossness and Beddington sites. The role covers asset inspections, risk-based maintenance and capital delivery support.

You will work to TWUL asset standards, investigate incidents, mentor staff, and participate in an on-call rota. Permanent, full-time, 36 hours per week with salary up to £62,000 plus car allowance and PPE.

Qualificações

• HNC, NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering or significant related experience.
• Formal training in BS7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations).
• Appointment as an Authorised Person for high voltage or low voltage systems.
• Proven working experience in industrial electrical power and engineering.
• Understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations and their application.
• Experience in large industrial utilities or water companies.
• Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and electrical safety rules.
• Training and operational experience as an Authorised Person.
• Engaging with process operations teams, contractors and third parties.
• Experience in mentoring and coaching others.
• Producing maintenance and fault-finding activity reports.

Responsabilidades

• Provide a technical support service to support and advise on the operation and maintenance of electrical systems. Provide input to the risk management process.
• Timely input and liaison support to high voltage or complex low voltage asset upgrade schemes. Identify and deliver directly managed capital programmes.
• Carry out electrical system failure investigations or unsafe events and produce reports.
• Carry out actions as necessary to manage maintenance reports, asset registers, manuals and other technical information.
• Undertake asset assessment surveys and produce recommendations. Support site inspections and deliver solutions to actions arising.
• Coach and mentor others in preparation for appointment as an Authorised Person and improve technical competence through a development plan.
• Review risk assessments & method statements to ensure that the electrical safety arrangements are appropriate. Review contractor electrical safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• There is an expectation that the role will be part of an out-of-hours support system to cover the electrical networks across the business when implemented. This role will require appointment as an Authorised Person for high voltage and low voltage networks through a development plan.
