Job summary
Thames Water seeks an Electrical Technical Support Engineer to support the Electrical Services team across process operations and Capital Delivery, ensuring new assets are installed and commissioned to TWUL standards. The role involves investigations, asset upgrades, and reporting to maintain safe, reliable electrical networks for millions of customers.
You will be part of a team that provides expert technical guidance, supports training and development toward Authorised Person status, and
Qualifications
- HNC or NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Formal training in BS7671 and electrical safety regulations.
- Appointment as an Authorised Person for HV/LV systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for operation and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Assist in high voltage asset upgrade schemes and capital programmes.
- Investigate electrical system failures and unsafe events; produce reports.
- Maintain asset registers, manuals, and technical information.
- Undertake asset assessments and support site inspections; implement actions.
- Coach others toward Authorised Person status and improve competence.
- Review risk assessments and safe systems of work; supervise safety procedures.
- Participate in out-of-hours support for electrical networks.
