Job summary
Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Support Engineer to be based at Reading or Oxford water treatment works. You will support the Electrical Services team across process operations and capital delivery, ensuring assets are installed and commissioned to TWUL standards.
The role includes involvement in asset upgrades, incident investigations, and development of engineers into Authorised Persons.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial electrical power and engineering.
- Formal training in electrical installations BS7671.
- Appointment as Authorised Person for HV/LV systems.
- Understanding Electricity at Work Regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to operation and maintenance of electrical systems and contribute to risk management.
- Support HV/complex LV asset upgrade schemes and capital programmes.
- Investigate electrical faults or unsafe events and produce reports.
- Maintain asset registers, manuals, and technical information.
- Conduct asset assessments and site inspections; recommend actions.
- Mentor others to become Authorised Persons and improve technical competence.
- Review risk assessments and safe systems of work for electrical safety.
