Job summary

The Environment Agency in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Team Leader to guide a new, dispersed regulatory team focused on COMAH and Oil Refinery regulation. You will develop delivery plans, lead inspections and audits, and build a culture of safety, inclusion and high performance.

You will collaborate across the organisation, manage priorities, coach your team through change, and ensure regulatory objectives are delivered while maintaining health, safety and wellbeing of staff.

Qualifications

• Understanding of COMAH and/or Oil Refinery regulation, or previous regulatory/industry experience in these sectors.
• Strong leadership skills demonstrated by successfully leading teams to work in collaboration to achieve objectives.
• Proven working knowledge of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
• Enthusiasm to achieve results, the ability to coach and mentor others to enhance their abilities and foster growth.
• Ability to collaborate with a range of customers and stakeholders, whether internal or external to support our goals.
• Skills to prioritise effectively for your team and the wider business.
• A flexible approach to work and capacity to make decisions using information and evidence.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a newly formed team and report to the High Hazard Regulatory Manager.
• Deliver robust inspections, audits and investigating incidents.
• Develop a delivery plan with your team and adapt it to changing priorities.
• Share good practice and identify opportunities for the business.
• Balance work to deliver the greatest environmental benefit.
