Job summary

Environment Agency in the North West region seeks a Senior Regulatory Officer to lead regulation of major oil refineries, oversee inspections, investigations, enforcement, and regulatory planning. The role requires operating across multi-site locations with regular travel and collaboration with internal and external partners.

You will contribute to high hazard regulation strategy, develop less experienced staff, and ensure quality regulatory delivery while managing reputational risk.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental regulation and/or high hazard industries.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and inspections.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead site inspections, investigations and enforcement actions for significant incidents.
• Deliver regulatory work programme across multiple areas.
• Provide technical leadership and develop staff within the team.
