Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years HGV workshop experience.
• HGV Class 2 driver's license is desirable.
• Ability to liaise directly with suppliers and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair work on HGVs.
• Prepare vehicles for annual tests and maintain records.
• Follow ISO & Health and Safety regulations.

The roles and responsibilities of the HGV Workshop Technician:

• A wide variety of servicing and repair work
• Contribute towards effective preventative maintenance
• Prepare and submit vehicles to a standard appropriate for the issuing of an annual test certificate
• Liaise with parts suppliers to ensure correct parts are issued to complete jobs efficiently and within the requirement timescale
• Accurately complete relevant paperwork including job cards and service sheets using online systems to the required standard
• Ensure ISO & Health and Safety regulations are always adhered to

What you need to succeed as an HGV Workshop Technician:

• City and Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 / NVQ Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years HGV workshop experience
• The ability to work alone and use initiative to find faults
• A good understanding of HGVs including diagnostic fault finding
• HGV Class 2 driver s license (desirable)
• Ability to liaise directly with suppliers, drivers and control
• General technical ability
