Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV technician to join a client’s team in Leicester. You will maintain, diagnose and repair HGVs, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance.

Working Monday to Friday days (40 hours), with occasional weekend overtime. Immediate start for the right candidate; temp-to-perm opportunity with a competitive £40,000–£44,000 salary and a strong health & safety focus.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Technician qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Tail lift, fridge and bodywork repairs are advantageous.
• Valid UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
• Strong understanding of maintenance practices, health & safety regulations and transport legislation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

HGV technician required in Leicester!

We are currently seeking an experienced HGV technician to join our client’s team.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the fleet remains safe, effective, roadworthy, compliant, and operational.

In this role, you will be:

• Carrying out service, maintenance, and repair work on HGVs to the highest standards.
• Diagnosing and correct vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Performing safety inspections, MOT preparations, and routine maintenance.
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with manufacturer standards.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Duration: Ongoing temp to perm position with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: This role pays £40,000 to £44,000 p/a.

Working Hours: You will be working Monday to Friday day shifts, 40 hours per week.Sometimes weekend overtime will be required.
