Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Ely is seeking a qualified HGV Technician for a permanent, full-time role with excellent overtime opportunities and clear career progression. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs, diagnose faults and ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Previous HGV or heavy vehicle experience is required.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence; HGV licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out safety inspections and MOT preparation.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance.
• Ensure repairs meet safety and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain accurate records and a clean, safe workshop.

• Salary: Up to £21.00 per hour DOE
• Hours: Monday-Friday | Rotating 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
• Saturday Overtime: 07:00-13:00 | £31.50 per hour
• Contract: Full-time, Permanent
