Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV Technician for a reputable commercial vehicle operation in Ilkeston. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and LCVs, prepare vehicles for MOT testing, and carry out six-week safety inspections in a busy, well-equipped workshop.

The role offers a 24-month fixed-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension, ongoing training and career development, and a supportive team environment. Salary up to £45,000 plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on HGVs within a commercial fleet environment.
• Experience working on LCVs is advantageous.
• City & Guilds Commercial Vehicle qualification or equivalent preferred.
• HGV licence is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Hardworking, reliable, and well-organised.
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop setting.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and LCVs.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and presenting them accordingly.
• Completing six-week safety inspections and scheduled servicing.
• Diagnosing faults using modern workshop diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Replacing and fitting vehicle components efficiently and safely.
• Providing breakdown support when required.
• Maintaining accurate workshop and compliance documentation.
• Working in line with DVSA and company standards.
