Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is recruiting an experienced HGV Trailer Mechanic to join our established commercial vehicle workshop. You will service, maintain and inspect HGV trailers, diagnose faults and ensure all work meets DVSA safety standards.

Applicants should have Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification or equivalent time-served experience; IRTEC is desirable. The role includes record-keeping and a focus on safety, with wellbeing benefits and additional leave options.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Trailer Mechanic or similar heavy vehicle role.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification or equivalent time-served experience.
• IRTEC certification desirable or working towards.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Trailer Mechanic to join an established commercial vehicle workshop.

Salary – £44,000 per annum + Overtime at 1.5x

Potential earnings of £55,000 per annum, including overtime.

The HGV Trailer Mechanic Role

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and inspections on HGV trailers.
• Diagnose and repair braking, suspension, electrical and bodywork faults.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs).
• Ensure all repairs meet DVSA compliance and safety standards.
• Record completed work accurately.
• Ensure trailers are safe and roadworthy.

Requirements

• Experience as an HGV Trailer Mechanic, Trailer Technician or similar heavy vehicle role.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification or equivalent time-served experience.
• IRTEC certification desirable or working towards.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
