Job summary

KAUTEC RECRUITMENT Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician for day shifts in the United Kingdom. You will inspect and service a varied fleet, perform MOT prep, routine maintenance, and scheduled DVSA-compliant servicing, including heavy vehicle diagnostics and repairs.

Training and upskilling are available, with a focus on upholding high workshop standards. Applicants with City & Guilds or NVQ-equivalent qualifications are preferred; IRTEC or EV qualifications are a plus and a clean HGV licence is

Qualifications

• Ideally fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
• IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable.
• HGV licence qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance on varied fleet including HGVs, vans, trailers and tipper vehicles.
• MOT preparation and DVSA standard servicing.
• 6 or 8 weekly inspections and running defect corrections.
• Chassis, fabrication, hydraulics and pneumatics work.
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

Day shifts

Salary circa up to £45k plus pvertime

You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV#s) refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers and tippers-

The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance
• MOT preparation
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
• Correction of running defects
• Chassis and fabrication work
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Improvement of vehicle standards
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

We are looking for qualified and time served Heavy Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.
