Job summary

RH GROUP LIMITED(THE) is seeking an HGV Technician Shift Supervisor to lead a dynamic workshop team in Coventry. This permanent, part-time role focuses on supervising technicians, coordinating workloads and maintaining high repair standards for HGVs and LCVs.

You will drive performance through coaching, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support customer satisfaction. The position offers competitive pay with overtime incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven HGV workshop leadership experience.
• Qualified HGV technician with City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance.

As the shift supervisor you will be responsible for…

• Supervise a team of HGV Technicians, ensuring top-quality work and productivity.
• Organise workloads, schedule jobs, and keep operations running smoothly.
• Maximise shift performance through problem-solving, coaching, and team development.
• Perform hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and LCVs.
• Ensure compliance with DVSA, Health & Safety standards, and VOSA regulations.
• Mentor and support team members to enhance skills and performance.
• Provide progress updates to management and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct routine maintenance, safety checks, and prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Sign off on My Check documents and carry out quality control on repairs.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and ensure adherence to H&S standards.
• Attend required training courses to stay up-to-date.
• Qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an HGV workshop
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and LCVs.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A full HGV Licence (not essential)
• Experience with the Renault Trucks and Isuzu Trucks product
• Experience in a Renault Trucks and Isuzu Trucks dealership
