Job summary

RH Commercial Vehicles is seeking an experienced HGV nightshift technician to join our Northampton workshop. You will service, maintain and repair a range of commercial vehicles, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to DVSA and manufacturer standards.

You will work the set nightshift (20:00–06:30) in a modern redeveloped facility, enjoying a strong tooling allowance, career development and a full package including pension and holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Proven experience on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Work to DVSA and manufacturer standards.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Support workshop productivity and vehicle uptime.

Working on a dedicated night shift, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers’ vehicles are serviced, maintained and repaired efficiently, helping keep their operations running smoothly.

The Role

As a nightshift technician, you will:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of commercial vehicles
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Work to DVSA and manufacturer standards
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance
• Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Support workshop productivity and vehicle uptime
• Maintain a safety and organised working environment
• Keep up to date with technical developments and training opportunities

What we're looking for

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Commercial Vehicle Repair or equivalent
• Proven experience working on HGVs, commercial vehicles or similar equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• HGV licence
• Main dealer experience
• Renault Trucks or Isuzu Trucks experience
