Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is hiring an experienced HGV Technician in Leicester for a permanent, full-time role. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs to high standards, using diagnostic tools to pinpoint faults and complete safety inspections and MOT prep.

The role offers structured technical training, long-term progression, and a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate has City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, strong diagnostic ability, and a UK driving

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Proactive and professional approach with attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
• Complete safety inspections and MOT preparation.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Ensure work is completed efficiently and to standard.
• Complete paperwork and workshop records.

Saturday: Alternative Saturdays, 06:00-12:00

Working Hours

Rotating earlies/lates:

06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00

06:00-12:00

The Role

As an

HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing HGVs to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and correctly.

As an

HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
• Using modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues
• Completing safety inspections and MOT preparation
• Carrying out routine preventative maintenance
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the required standards
• Completing relevant paperwork and workshop records

About You

We’re looking for an experienced

HGV Technician who can demonstrate:

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
• Previous experience working as an

• Good mechanical and electrical knowledge
• A proactive and professional approach
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
