Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Nuneaton to join a professional workshop team. You will service trucks, trailers and fleet equipment, with ongoing manufacturer training and clear progression paths.

The role offers alternating early/late shifts (Mon–Fri 06:00–14:30 and 13:30–22:00) with paid overtime and occasional Saturdays. It includes generous benefits and a supportive working environment to develop your technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience in maintenance of commercial vehicles or trailers.
• Ability to identify defective or worn components per DVSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and commercial units.
• Complete routine servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance, tyre replacement and lubrication.
• Maintain workshop stock levels and keep work areas clean and organised.
• Assist with fault finding, diagnostics and repair planning.
• Keep accurate service records and maintenance documentation.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and provide emergency assistance when required.
• Process warranty claims and complete paperwork.
• Follow health, safety and industry regulations at all times.

Job description

Overtime paid at time and 1 half, day off on your birthday, manufacturer training, clear progression pathways, Enhanced Maternity and Paternity support, 4 times salary death-in-service cover, 24hr GP access.

£18 per hour plus £15 daily late shift allowance (where applicable). Overtime paid at time and a half. ( CIRCA BASIC SALARY – £41,340)

Alternating weekly shifts, Monday to Friday 06:00-14:30 and 13:30-22:00. Saturday work available every other week and paid at the overtime rate.

• Maintain workshop stock levels and ensure work areas remain organised and clean.
• Assist colleagues with fault finding, diagnostics, and repair planning.
• Keep accurate service records and maintenance documentation.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and provide emergency assistance when required.
• Process warranty claims and complete all associated paperwork correctly.
• Follow health, safety, and industry regulations at all times.

We are very keen to hear from HGV Technicians that have the following:-

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience within commercial vehicle or trailer maintenance.
• Ability to identify defective or worn components in line with DVSA standards.
• Full UK driving licence relevant to vehicle categories operated.
• Diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
• IRTEC accreditation is advantageous but not essential.
