Job summary

RH Commercial Vehicles is seeking skilled HGV technicians to join our busy workshop teams in Northampton. You will service, maintain and repair trucks and vans, while benefiting from ongoing manufacturer training, earning potential and clear progression paths.

Applicants should have Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, plus experience on commercial vehicles, strong diagnostic skills, a full driving licence and ideally an HGV licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience working on commercial vehicles such as trucks and vans.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full driving licence and ideally HGV licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair commercial vehicles to DVSA and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Use diagnostic equipment and workshop systems.
• Support apprentices and wider team in day-to-day tasks.

HGV Technician | OTE: Up to £50,000 a year

• Northampton
• From £20 – £23 per hour + overtime = OTE: £50,000 (depending on shift and experience
• £1,500 annual tooling allowance

Working within our modern, recently refurbished workshop environment, you’ll maintain a variety of trucks and vans while benefiting from ongoing manufacturer training, excellent earning potential and genuine opportunities to progress your career.

Shift Pattern

Shift Patterns:Minimum 40 hours a week, multiple shift pattern options available.

4 day week: option 11:30 – 22:00 or 10:00 – 20:30

• Alternating shifts:
• Early: Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 15:30, Friday: 06:30 – 14:30
• Late: Monday – Thursday: 12:30 – 22:00, Friday: 12:30 – 21:00, Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00 (Saturday at overtime)

What you'll be doing

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently
• Complete work to DVSA and manufacturer standards
• Using diagnostic equipment and workshop systems
• Supporting apprentices and wider team
• Keeping up to date with technical developments and training.

What we're looking for

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Commercial Vehicle Repair or equivalent
• Experience working on commercial vehicles such as Trucks and Vans
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Full driving licence
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• HGV Licence
• Renault Trucks or Isuzu Trucks experience
